Original I Rub My Duckie Vibrator

The Original I Rub My Duckie Vibrator

The yellow I Rub My Duckie is the original I Rub My Duckie that has launched tons of other off-shoots and colors. This vibrating duck is made by Big Teaze Toys. This one is the original vibrating duck made of a type of rubber and vibrates with three speeds. It takes two AA batteries for operation, and it does not contain latex, natural rubbers, phthalates, or toxic heavy metals.

The packaging for the I Rub My Duckie has changed since the first version. Now in comes in a cylindrical package that shows off the toy from the see-through window on the front of the packaging. The duck can be slightly difficult to get out of here, but it’s not too bad, and it also comes with multiple instruction guides and product guides to help you get started on using your vibrating duckie. There’s also a full-color diagram about how to insert the batteries into your new vibrating duck.

The I Rub My Duckie does look just like your average duck. It’s a bit larger and a bit heavier than your average rubber ducky, but upon first glance, the duck just looks like a regular rubber duck. When someone tries to squeeze it, he isn’t going to squeeze or squeak like a regular rubber duck would, and he does have a battery compartment on his underside, but for apperances, the duck does just look like a regular duck. The material is a hard and rigid material, so no part of the duck is plushy or bendy.

If you’ve used an I Rub My Duckie vibrator in the past, this new Original vibrating duck actually has been improved since the previous version. For this new version, the duck actually has been given more power! A complaint about my first duck was that it was lacking in powder, so I’m glad to see this change. However, it does need to be noted that it didn’t gain too much power. It’s something you’ll notice when holding them side-by-side, but it’s not something that will take these moderate vibrations up to uber-powerful vibrations either.

The I Rub My Duckie takes two AA batteries for use. Inserting the batteries is one of the more annoying parts about the I Rub My Duckie. You need to unscrew the battery compartment with a screwdriver and insert the two batteries. You then have to screw it back in. This in itself isn’t too bad, but if the batteries die mid-use, I certainly would not want to have to find a screwdriver to get into the battery compartment. I know this helps make the toy waterproof, but I’d love to see if Big Teaze Toys could find a different want to keep the batteries water-safe.

Controlling the I Rub My Duckie can be a bit of a problem also. It has gotten better since the last version of the I Rub My Duckie though. To control the duck vibrator, you push down on the vibrating duck’s back. It does require a firm push, but it’s gotten much easier than the first version. You’ll hear an audible click when you’ve pushed it correctly, and the vibrating duck will start to vibrate. Controlling the duck is really a two-handed affair as you’ll want to hold the duck steady with one hand while pushing the button with the other – especially if your hands are lubricated or wet. It has gotten easier to control – though still not the usability that I’d like to see. However, because there are no obvious control features on the duck, it does make it more discreet.

The vibrations on the I Rub My Duckie have gotten stronger than the last I Rub My Duckie versions that I’ve tried. They’re on the higher end of moderate, and they are relatively loud. They can definitely be heard in the same room, and depending on what you have going on, they may be heard outside of a closed door. The vibrations themselves are pretty rumbly and deep, but they also vibrate the entire duck, so it can make your fingers go numb while holding this little duck friend for use.

The I Rub My Duckie, though mostly designed to be a discreet vibrator option, does work alright as a vibrator as well. The vibrations seem to be centered in the head and the tail of the duck which makes it pretty easy to use as those are the easy-to-get-at places. I prefer the tail end of the duck as the head end can have the beak (which I find uncomfortable), but if you really like direct pinpoint stimulation, the duck’s beak could be perfect for you. I find that the head makes an easy place to grip onto while using the tail-end, and the material of the duck is pretty easy to grab on to which is a plus.

Cleaning the original vibrating duckie is pretty simple as it is waterproof. You just want to use warm soap and water. Big Teaze Toys recommends only water-based lubricant, and this vibrating duck doesn’t pick up lint or hair, so it can be kept wherever you’d like. It’s a pretty low-maintenance vibrating duck, actually.

Overall, while the Original I Rub My Duckie is not going to be the powerhouse or vibrator of your dreams, it does do what it claims to do: vibrate while being waterproof and discreet. It’s absolutely adorable, and if you don’t like/or can’t use a vibrator that looks like it was designed for sex, the I Rub My Duckie can be a fantastic alternative. Thanks to Big Teaze Toys for providing this vibrating duck vibrator for my I Rub My Duckie vibrator review.
