Money in M/s

Well, I’m back from my small little trip back to my parent’s during Spring Break. I’ve been enjoying this week off of classes so far, and I’m honestly not looking forward to going back. I’ve been playing my video games like I haven’t in a long time, and I’m starting to get caught up on reviews.

Coming home was nice. There was a nice amount of packages waiting for me. Slightly annoying since we had to run all over town to pick them all up, though. (FedEx and PostOffice after a three hour long drive isn’t too fun.) I had a G-Pop from Tabutoys, Couture Collection Masseur and Bound by Diamonds Hog-Tie Set from EdenFantasys, and Lucid Dream #14 and Man of My Dreams DVD from BetterSex. Lots of fun stuff to be reviewed soon.

(I gave plasma for the first time today, and my finger (my main typing one) is in a band-aid, so forgive any spelling errors, please.)

It’s interesting how money can come up quite often in a M/s relationship. In every M/s relationship, it is something that varies largely based upon every couple. Some keep their finances seperate and both work, some submissives work while the Dominant doesn’t, and sometimes, Dominants work while the submissives stay at home. It is slightly gender-orientated, but at the same time, it does vary upon every relationship.

For example, I control all of the finances in our relationship. Jor doesn’t have a specific amount set out for groceries, but he knows to spend reasonably, and that really is about the only thing he can purchase without clearing it through me first. Since he stays home and doesn’t work, I make all of the money for the household as well. I do enjoy working when it’s something that I semi-like, but the job I’m at at the moment isn’t very exciting nor fun. I’ve been making some extra cash here through Kinky World though which is nice.

I go to work most nights, and instead of Jor working, he usually ends up doing the smaller things. For example, I’m pretty horrible about cleaning up after myself (cereal bowls are left out when I leave for work or soda cans are). I also hate, with a passion, doing any sort of thorough cleaning. Picking up isn’t so bad, but I hate thorough cleaning like a bathroom would require. Jor does all of those things. When I’m at work, he cleans and tidies up the apartment. He cooks some food for me to have when I get home. We’re considering him coming with me to donate plasma since it’d be nice to have more money, but nothing has been decided. I don’t want him to really have a job while we live here since he doesn’t want it and I prefer him to focus on keeping the apartment nice. We’ll see how finances roll out to figure out if it will be needed or not though.

Finances really aren’t too much of a point of contention for us, but it really does annoy me when he insinuates that we don’t have enough money. I do try as hard as I can. Gah. But that’s not important.
