365 Sex Positions is a sex position guide published by Amorata Press and written by Lisa Sweet. The book includes 372 pgaes, and in those pages, there are 365 sex positions to sample from. The book is a softcover, small book with full-color pages on the inside. Each page comes with a full-page picture of a sex position with a small caption at the bottom. The book is small in size and pretty easy to hide away from prying eyes.
This book does not go into as much detail as some other sex position books do. It doesn’t go into as much detail as even *most* sex position books do. This book is mostly pictures with a short sentence underneath each position. There are no details about the positions nor pros and cons about each position. It’s just a picture with a caption underneath.
The pictures are really, really nicely done. They are very tasteful, and while they don’t show the genitals, they are clear enough to show you exactly what the sex position is that the book is demonstrating. The pictures are taken with models, so the people aren’t very average, but if you wanted to learn what the position is like, the book does do a good job of demonstrating that. The color choices for the pictures are really tasteful, and the pictures end up looking very art-sy and tasteful.
The positions are on the moderate side of difficult on average. The book does a good job of mixing up variations on old favorites (missionary, doggie, etc.) with positions that are “oh my god!” insane and most couples probably won’t be able to do them. The book does include a lot of standing positions that require a lot of muscle strength and tone from both partners. Some of the positions you’ll be able to do with no issue, but some of these positions are probably going to be out of reach for the average couple. How some of the positions are set up also make it nearly impossible to thrust, so grinding has to be done as well. Not all of the positions are amazingly unique (which is what tends to happen when you come up with 365 of them), but most have enough of a variance from previous ones to make it feel like a whole new position.
The book is an okay resource for people who want to learn new sex positions. It, unfortunately, does not have any sort of step-by-step directions, and all it provides is pictures. It can be very difficult to get into these positions without any further direction, so sometimes, you may find yourself feeling a bit lost as to how to get into the position. However, the pictures do provide a lot of inspiration for finding new positions, but if you want step-by-step instructions on how to get into some of these positions, this book does not provide it. With as difficult as some of these positions are, I think that this is definitely a downside to the book.
The positions aren’t all on beds either which is a nice feature. Some of these positions require things like an exercise ball, a table, or a kitchen chair. The book aims to get you out of your bed and into other rooms of your house to try out some of these positions.
Not all of these positions are intercourse positions either. Some of the positions show how to do manual stimulation or oral stimulation as well. This keeps things a bit mixed up, and you’d be able to mix in some of the non-penetration to keep things interesting as well.
Overall, it’s not a perfect book, but it’s not a bad book either. It can be hard to find sex position manuals that have such pretty pictures in them and so many interesting and unique positions. However, if you enjoy pros/cons/details or step-by-step instructions, this book will not be a good book for you. It has the basic pictures, but it does not go into detail at all.
