OhMiBod Freestyle G
The vibrator and the accessories

The OhMiBod Freestyle :G is a recently released g-spot version of the old OhMiBod Freestyle. This toy is almost exactly the same as the original Freestyle except it has a g-spot curve at the end of the toy. The Freestyle :G is made from velvet-feel plastic, and it’s splashproof. The sex toy comes in both purple and pink color choices. The toy is a little over six and a half inches long, and it’s slightly over an inch in diameter. This is an inch of reduction compared to the OhMiBod Freestyle original. The toy comes with the three modes that all OhMiBod vibrators do. This vibrator will work any object that has a headphone jack including iPods, Mp3 players, iPhones, and smartphones.

One of the very first vibrators I received was from a contest winning. It happened to be the OhMiBod Freestyle, so receiving this OhMiBod Freestyle :G was almost nostalgic. It turns out that they’ve made the :G an inch shorter, and they’ve changed the packaging, but aside from that, it seems to be the same great, high-quality as well as the same modes and strength.

The packaging is still classy, but I’m sorry to say that they downgraded from what was included on the original. The original included a beautiful plastic case that included all sorts of adapters, the instruction manual, and everything. This one just has the cardboard box with one plug-in adapter (U.S. one), the wireless transmitter, the vibrator, and the instructions. There aren’t multiple plug-in adapters, and while the box is gorgeous, there isn’t any plastic case. It makes me a little sad since I’ve kept all the original packaging from the original Freestyle just because the packaging impressed me so much. This packaging will still be plenty suitable for storage, but I don’t feel like it’s quite as “wow!” inspiring.

The instructions included are nice and comprehensive. If you had any questions about how to use your OhMiBod, the instructions are going to answer them. It includes the specifications, diagrams of the parts of your sexy toy, the warranty information (1 year!), battery disposal, how to clean it, how to charge it, and what all the modes are and how to use them. The instruction manual is available in a couple different languages, and it’s a pretty (and colorful) manual. You won’t have to worry about being confused about the use.

The modes for the Freestyle :G are pretty nice modes. They all are also pretty self explanatory, and I’m sure you’ll find a use for all of the modes. The vibration modes on the Freestyle :G are controlled by the base of the vibrator; it actually rotates, and you just need to have the base point to whatever mode you’d like to use. Along with this, there is a plus and minus button on the base of this sex toy that allows you to control the vibrator strengths while under the manual mode.

The Freestyle :G has three modes. The “most-used” mode is going to be the “Travel and Storage Mode” which is denoted by a block on the vibrator. This is the mode that does not use any of the power of the Freestyle :G; the other two modes do. This also keeps the vibrator from vibrating as well, so it’s used for storage.

The mode I end up using a lot is the manual mode. This is where you can use your Freestyle :G like its an average sex toy. When turned to the “7” mode, you can use the plus and minus buttons to scroll through the vibration strengths of the Freestyle :G. There are three of the regular low, medium, and high, and then there’s also four patterns. When you don’t feel like using music with your vibrator, this still allows the Freestyle :G to be a useful toy.

The vibrator

The music mode, of course, is the main attraction of the Freestyle G. You turn the vibrator to the music notes on the dial, and turn on the wireless transmitter, and your vibrator will be ready to receive music. (Of course, you have to plug your transmitter into any headphone jack that’s playing music, too) With those two things done, your vibrator should vibrate to the music. We use a lot of pop and rock music, and they work great for us. The vibrator is really sensitive to the music, and like the original Freestyle, the vibrator will vibrate to the “strongest” sound whether it be vocals or bass. For most of my songs, it sticks to the bass. Each song requires you to adjust the transmitter’s sensitivity. For example, a hard rock song is going to require less sensitivity since everything will be bass. A soft ballad will require more sensitivity because everything will mostly be vocals. Either way, you can work with the sensitivity on your vibrator to make the vibrator the perfect mix between “strong enough to the beat” and “always vibrating”.

All of the vibrations (I speak for the music and manual mode) are relatively strong. The vibrations from the Freestyle G are on the high side of moderate, so most women should probably have no problem reaching orgasm with the sex toy’s settings. However, the vibration settings are a bit loud, so you may find that this may not be the best choice for close-quarter living. The low and medium vibration settings are okay, but they could easily be heard in the same room. The highest one definitely can be heard in the same room, and it might be heard through a closed door; it depends on how sneaky your listener is being.

This vibrator is rechargeable (to an extent). The vibrator itself (The Freestyle :G) is rechargeable, but the wireless transmitter is not. The wireless transmitter takes two AAA batteries. They are included, and the batteries will last awhile as long as you make sure to turn off the vibrator’s transmitter when it is not in use. It has a light on the transmitter that turns on when the vibrator is on, so it’s easy to tell if it’s on or not. The vibrator itself is rechargeable. There is a plug at the base of the vibrator that plugs into the charger. It’s covered by a silicone cover when it’s not charging. The vibrator needs to charge for two hours, but it will last up to five hours on a two-hour charge which is really good for a rechargeable vibrator. When it’s charging, the LED light will be red, and when it’s fully charged, it will be green. The instruction manual warns that you should not charge your Freestyle :G for more than 24 hours; this probably degrades the battery if you do.

I could sit here and pretend like I had some good expectations for the g-spot tip, but I didn’t. I was hoping it’d hit my g-spot, but it didn’t. This is not the toy’s fault. I apparently have the world’s worst-placed g-spot as none of the g-spot toys can ever manage to hit my g-spot. If only a company would make a vibrating version of the Bent Graduate. Then I’d be good to go. (The G-Ki does come pretty close) However, even if the g-spot tip didn’t work internally, it was not a complete bust. Instead, I found that, like I was hoping, the curved tip of the Freestyle :G actually makes for an amazing clitoral vibrator (better than the original) because the tip curves really nicely over your clitoris. This made me a very happy girl, and I was surprised to find that it worked so well.

I’ve used it a couple times in conjunction with my laptop. However, if you were hoping to just plug it in to your laptop and go, it’s not quite that simple. Because the OhMiBod plug-in actually plugs in to the headphone jack, the computer won’t still play music out of your speakers. You’ll need to add your own headphones to the OhMiBod jack or to add another pair of speakers to be able to hear the music out loud. This isn’t really that big of a deal, but it’s just a note that you can’t just “plug’n’play” if that’s what you were expecting.

Some of the things you can do with the Freestyle are kind of unique. I hadn’t thought about this, but the boyfriend and I were having a conversation, and I told him I want to do something together, and he wanted to do homework. He laughed, and he said I should just put the Freestyle :G in my crotch, and he’d control the music choices. It wouldn’t be the same as playing with someone, but since the OhMiBod Freestyle :G is wireless up to 25 feet (the size of a large apartment), it could make it fun when one of you wants to play and the other doesn’t. (This would be especially helpful in a D/s relationship). We tried it, and from across the apartment, the OhMiBod still receives signals with no problems. (This leads me to wonder why OhMiBod hasn’t made a wireless bullet and remote. They seem to have mastered the technology better than most other sex toy companies.)

Cleaning your OhMiBod Freestyle :G is really easy because it’s plastic. The plastic is non-porous which means that it can be sterilized for multiple-person use. However, make sure to avoid getting any bleach near the top of the control portion since this is splashproof (to help with cleaning), but it is not waterproof. You do need to be careful while washing since it can’t be submerged, but the Freestyle :G is splashproof which will help keep water out of the sex toy itself. It’s compatible with all types of lubricant, and I highly recommend keeping it in the original box. If you don’t want to, it doesn’t appear that the set comes with any sort of storage bag, so because of all of the pieces, I really think it best that you just keep it in the original packaging.

In final, I really like the Freestyle :G – even more than I like my original OhMiBod Freestyle vibrator. (I made a review of the original OhMiBod Freestyle and how it works, and I thought about doing one for this Freestyle :G, but they’re the same thing except the :G has a g-spot tip. So check out my video to watch how well it works during use.) The g-spot tip curves really nicely for clitoral use, and even if you aren’t up for music, the pre-set settings make it really easy to enjoy your OhMiBod Freestyle :G with regular vibrations. The plastic is nice and smooth, and if you are a music junkie, this is going to be your guilty pleasure. Compared to a lot of other luxury vibrators, the OhMiBod Freestyle :G offers the most bang for your buck. Thanks to much to Babeland Toys for providing this vibrator for my OhMiBod Freestyle G Review.
