LELO Bo and LELO Tor Comparison Review

UPDATE JANUARY 2024: The LELO Bo is no longer in production – so the LELO Tor 2 now wins by a default win. This sex toy review remains for anyone who’d like info about either cock ring. While you’re here, why not check out some additional educational info – like online submissive tasks, beginner pegging positions, saran wrap bondage, and enema 101 info.

Today we have a battle royale between the two LELO cock rings. They look so similar in appearance and come from the same company, so after hearing many people ask about the differences in the two rings, FunWares offered to send me both cock rings and let me decide the “winner” of this epic battle. So, the battle between LELO Bo and LELO Tor begins now!

LELO Bo and LELO Tor

Appearance:
Both the LELO Bo and the Tor are made from plastic and TPE. The upper, “squared” portion is made from a hard plastic which is where the vibrations come from while the ring portion is made from TPE is so it’s very stretchy and easy to affix over the penis. Both of the cock rings pull apart into two separate pieces for easy cleaning. Both the Tor and the Bo have a slide-in piece on the top of the TPE section that makes it easy for the plastic portion to slide right on. However, it’s much easier to slide the Tor on than the Bo. The Bo gives a lot more resistance and isn’t smooth.

The Tor is available in both Purple and Black while the Bo is available in Black and Dark Red. Both of the rings stretch the same amount.

Main Difference: LELO Tor’s plastic portion is easier to slide on.
Winner: LELO Tor

Packaging:
Both LELO Tor and LELO Bo share similar packaging. They both come in an outer box that is very classy and very attractive with the product name on the front and a picture of the toy on the back. Inside this outer cardboard packaging is a nice, sturdy, plain black box that houses the toy, the charger, and all of the instruction manuals. Both rings also come with a little “c-ring holder” that is a small plastic case for it to sit in.

Tor is made with LELO’s new blister package packaging which means once you open it, it’s hard to get it back in the nice tray. So you just throw Tor into the box. However, Bo is made with a nice, plastic tray inside the box, so Bo just sits in the tray when you are done which makes it look much neater. Both include good instruction booklets and a one-year warranty.

Main Difference: LELO Bo’s packaging comes with a storage tray for the c-ring and is also much smaller in size.
Winner: LELO Bo

Charging:
Both of the toys easily charge by a plug-in that comes with the sex toy. They are rechargeable, so they don’t not require any batteries. I haven’t noticed any difference in charging times, and both charge for two hours with two hours of playtime. There’s a small little hole in the side of the plastic portion where the charger plugs in. The chargers are interchangeable with the other c-ring. Neither can be used while charging, so make sure to charge ahead of time. Both can also be charged inside their little plastic containers to allow for discreet recharging if need be.

No difference, no winner.

LELO Bo and LELO Tor

Design/Usability:
This is a big difference between the two cock rings. The LELO Bo ring automatically turns on when the plastic piece is slid onto the TPE piece. The LELO Tor can be slid on and off the TPE piece, but the two buttons on the sides of the c-ring control the vibrations.

The Bo can be difficult to mess with because the track for sliding the plastic piece on seems to be not nearly as smooth. It can be really difficult to use it because you can have a problem getting it to slide on (and especially off if your hands are lubricated.) I had a problem sliding it off when my hands were dry; it was near impossible when they were lubricated. However, the Tor can be slid on and off with no problem since the track seems to be better designed. Since the Tor is controlled by the two buttons on either side of the plastic piece, it’s much easier to control whether you want the vibrations on or off mid-session.

As a sidenote, the Tor’s “-” button is also the same way that the plastic piece is pushed off of the TPE piece, so it can get frustrating to attempt to slow down the vibrations unless you hold the opposite side of the toy at the same time.

For travel, both work equally well. The Bo won’t turn on unless attached to the TPE ring, and the Tor can be locked by holding down both buttons at the same time.

Main Difference: The Bo automatically turns on when the plastic piece is slid on while the Tor has easier-to-use buttons on the sides of the plastic piece.
Winner: LELO Tor

Vibrations:

This is another difference between the two cock rings. The Bo has one single vibration setting that automatically turns on when the plastic piece is slid onto the TPE ring. The Tor has multiple vibration settings that must be turned on by the buttons on the side of the ring. The Tor also has steady vibration settings as well as patterns.

The Bo’s single power setting does equal the highest power setting on the Tor though. That means, if you enjoy softer vibrations, the Tor is a better purchase since you can have less intense vibrations. Tor also has patterns. The vibration strength is moderate. It’s about the same strength as a “medium” on most battery-operated vibrators, but for a cock ring, it’s really strong and very buzzy.

Both cock rings are pretty quiet. They sounded a bit like buzzing bees when I was playing with them, but they didn’t awaken the sleeping submissive on the couch while I was turning them on for this review, so they’re quiet enough. They can be heard in the same room but barely. They can not be heard through a closed door. Both of them have the same noise level when on the same strength setting.

Main Difference: LELO Tor has multiple vibration settings while the Bo only has one.
Winner: LELO Tor

Price:
LELO Tor and LELO Bo widely differ in price. The Tor is $99.95, and Bo is $69.95. Even if the prices do eventually go down, Tor will also be more expensive. This is probably because of the buttons and multiple speeds. In the category of price, Bo does take the win.

Main Difference: LELO Bo is more affordable.
Winner: LELO Bo

Erection Improvement:
Both the Tor and the Bo have the exact same piece of TPE, so neither seems to work any better at erection improvement. Both of the rings will squeeze your erection and make your erection stronger, but neither hurt. We didn’t have any problems with the rings catching on pubic hair either. The ring shouldn’t be worn for more than thirty minutes at a time due to trapping blood in the penis. The ring can be worn around both the shaft and testicles, but we preferred wearing it on just the shaft.

If vibrations are not preferred for the current sexual activity, both rings can also be easily used on their own without the plastic vibrations portion turned on. When the plastic portion is not attached, both cock rings are also waterproof and can be used in the shower or bath.

No difference, no winner.

Cleaning:
LELO made both of these cock rings extremely easy to clean. The plastic portion is motorized, so it can be wiped down with a damp washcloth. However, the TPE portion can be boiled for sterilization. It can also be bleached or completely immersed in water. For storage, both of them can go back into their original boxes or the little storage case, and since both are made from TPR and plastic, they both can be used with any type of lubricant.

No difference, no winner.

The Thick of It:
LELO Tor wins 3 categories while LELO Bo wins 2. LELO TOR IS THE WINNER!

I’d recommend Lelo Tor more overall if you have the extra cash to spend on a cock ring. It’s much less frustrating since the track works better, you can adjust the vibration levels much more easily, and it’s much easier to use when lubricated/during sex. Lelo Tor’s packaging was a downgrade instead of an upgrade, but if you have the extra money, Lelo Tor is very much worth the extra.
