Sextreme Electro-Vibe Review

The box of the Sextreme ElectroVibe

Oh, those Germans!

The Sextreme Electro-Vibe is a very interesting, German-made, electric sex sex toy sold by EdenFantasys. The manufacturer is Orion. The toy is a vibrating silicone insertive portion with a remote controller attached by a cord. The insertive portion is six inches long with a small flared base that isn’t big enough to make this toy anal-safe. The toy’s diameter is about an inch and a half at the widest point of the vibrator. This sex toy has both vibrating and electrosex settings as well as a combination of the two.

The toy does come in an interesting box. It’s white with a pull-off lid with an odd naked Dominatrix-looking woman on the front. It gives the features in both German and English. The inside has the vibrator, the controller, and the batteries all laying out in a velvet-lined tray. As can be expected, the vibrator does come with instructions as well – both in German and English. (The instructions made me giggle since it’s obvious they were made up in Microsoft Word. They are just a printed sheet of paper.) The instructions include everything you need to know including health warnings, all the information about the electrosex portion, a picture of the toy and how to use it, and technical specifications of the vibrator.

The vibe in the box

I figure I should calm your worries. No, you won’t die or electrocute yourself with this vibrator. It doesn’t go that high in voltage. If you are really concerned, don’t be. It’s nowhere near the heart, and as long as you don’t fall under the ‘No use’ guidelines, you shouldn’t have a problem. Of course, there’s always a chance of risk with anything electric, so remember that, but the chance isn’t very high with this one. Those “shock games” give out more power than this little vibe does. For those who are technical, the instructions say that, at maximum, it gives of 60 Vpp.

It was actually kinda hilarious when the boyfriend and I first received this. We tried it like some sort of new “discovery”. We would just poke at it and giggle when it shocked us. With our hands, we never went past the 3rd level of intensity just since it was so odd. When placed on the legs (or less sensitive areas than a finger), you can get up to eight without any problem.

The instructions are nice and detailed

Now just for the warnings of when you shouldn’t purchase or use this. You shouldn’t use it if you are wet. (Duh.) You shouldn’t use this on children under 15 years old or while pregnant. You shouldn’t use this if you have a heart problem or a pacemaker. You also should avoid this if you are suffering from tumors, infectious diseases, or feverish conditions. In case of an emergency, pressing down the On and Off button at the same time will automatically shut it off.

This vibrator is interesting. It does seem to be covered in silicone, and the cord to the remote is firmly attached. The cord is about two feet long. Oddly enough, this toy is actually kinda heavy – nothing like stainless steel, but it’s hefty compared to most vibrators. It has a bit of a silicone scent, but maybe that’s a plastic scent. It’s a scent I have smelled in Ophoria’s silicone before, so maybe it’s the scent of medical silicone. Don’t ask me. It does feel like silicone though. The remote is comfortable to hold in your hand, and unlike other toys where the LED light telling you the setting is useless, this remote’s LED light is really useful.

For example, when the light is blinking really quickly, you know that the vibration is on. When it’s blinking slowly, you know that the electrosex is one. When it’s a solid green light, you know that both options are on. It helps you to avoid the “surprise” of touching the toy if the electrosex is on and you didn’t know it. It also will help a partner know what setting the toy is on.

The electrosex part is the interesting part of this sex toy. There are eight different strengths of electrosex. You press the “On” button, and it will activate the first setting. The “Off” button brings the toy down a level. In order to be shocked by the electrosex settings, you must have your body connecting on the two black pads on the sides. Just one side won’t do it. When inserted, your body takes care of that on its own. With hands, though, you’d have to close your hand around the toy. The shocking settings aren’t really steady. It’s like a little “bzzt” separated by about a full second before the next one. The lowest setting is really low, so don’t be afraid to touch it when you first turn it on.

The vibe and the remote

The vibration setting works indepedently of the electrosex settings. You just press the red button on the remote, and the single vibration setting will turn on. This can be individually turned on, or it can be turned on while the electrosex setting is turned on as well. The vibration setting is moderately strong, and some people may find it too powerful since there’s really no way to work up to it. The vibration setting could easily be heard in the same room, but it probably couldn’t be heard through a closed door.

Using this toy was interesting. The shocks definitely felt a lot “stronger” on my fingers, but they could definitely be felt during use too. While I couldn’t go over the 3 setting with my fingers, when inserted, I had it up to eight, so the vaginal walls apparently not nearly as sensitive to shock as my fingers are. The vibration setting is nice and rumbly, and while I’m a bit disappointed it only has the one vibration setting, that one setting is a nice addition to the electrosex. It does get a bit difficult to really feel the elecrosex while the vibrating setting is on though. I’ve used Violet Wands and love them a lot for the sensation, but this one was a whole different sensation. It probably would be more comparable with a TENS Unit than a Violet Wand.

The electrosex stimulation tickled on my hands (and made me smile), but it wasn’t nearly as sensitive during sexual use. I think it’s just neat to feel the current running through my fingers though. Since I can’t orgasm through vaginal stimulation, this toy didn’t make me orgasm, but that isn’t a negative point on its part. It did add a very interesting sensation though.

To clean this, you should use toy wipes since the toy is electric-based. Just to be safe, please take the batteries out of the remote first. The instructions state that the cord is not strong enough to serve as a removal cord, so make sure to grab the toy by the base. I’m unsure about using this with condoms and how it would effect the electrosex portions since condoms don’t get along with me. The vibrator can use water-based lubricants to make insertion easier. Lubricant doesn’t seem to change the electrosex feeling. For storage, the box works okay as long as you are okay with odd-Dominatrix-woman on the cover staring at you.

Considering the price of other electrosex alternatives (TENS Unit = ~$100, Violet Wand = ~$300), the Sextreme Electro-Vibe ends up being a good choice to dip your feet into trying the sensations of electroplay. It’s a quality toy that, while a bit weak when used for sexual purposes, is just perfect since there’s really no way you’ll end up being in pain with use. It’s not the most attractive toy (gray and black), but it does what it says it’s going to do, and it does it pretty well. I just wish it had more than one vibration setting. This adult toy store sells the Sextreme Electro-Vibe if you’re interested.
