LELO Elise Review

LELO Elise
The back of the packaging

UPDATE JANUARY 2024: The LELO Elise is no longer in production – and instead, there’s the LELO Elise 2. With 100% stronger vibrations, fully waterproof capabilities, and 8 pleasure modes, it upgrades on the standard features of the first-generation Elise.

The LELO Elise is one of LELO’s larger vibrators. This toy basically is like the larger cousin of the LELO Liv – it’s just a bigger version of it. The LELO Elise is rechargeable and made from body-safe silicone and plastic. (Mostly silicone while the touchpad is plastic) The sex toy is a little over eight inches long with a diameter of a little over an inch. Instead of running on a single vibration motor like most toys do, the Elise runs on dual-motors that work together to give you even more power.

The packaging is as pretty as most LELO packaging. The outer box is classy and looks professional with a picture of the vibrator on the back as well as a list of all the features of the toy. Inside this outer cardboard shell is a plain, discreet black box. This box opens up to show the Elise resting in a plastic tray. Underneath this plastic tray is a small storage bag, the charger for the rechargeable Elise, and instruction booklet and warranty information booklet. Everything easily goes back into this original box for storage, and in fact, I recommend this box for both long-term storage and gift-giving.

As stated before, the LELO Elise is a rechargeable sex toy. It has a small port at the bottom of the vibrator where the charger plugs in. When not plugged in, there’s a small little rubber stopper that keeps the water from getting inside of the charging port. The toy takes about three hours to fully charge – I think this might have something to do with the dual motors.

The silicone on the Elise is very soft. It’s one of the softest types of silicone I’ve ever felt – all LELO silicone is. It is amazingly smooth, and while it does provide a bit of drag that will require you to use lubrication for insertion, it doesn’t provide too much drag as some other silicone does. The entire toy feels very soft and very smooth – but it also isn’t flexible at all. It’s obvious that there’s a plastic or another hard surface underneath the silicone, so it isn’t soft and pliable – it’s very firm. This means you will easily be able to get pressure during masturbation if that’s what you enjoy. The plastic handle was also extremely easy to have a grip on – even while the toy was lubricated. The buttons are in a bit of an awkward position to reach, but I didn’t have any problems accidentally pressing them during use like I did with the LELO Siri.

The vibrations are controlled by the control panel on the front of the toy. The side arrows control the strength while the up and down scroll through patterns. The patterns are basically variations on passing the vibrations back and forth between the motors. The controls are very easy to use during use – no problem at all.

I usually don’t use toys like this for insertion. The plastic undercoat ends up making it really stiff for insertion, and if you don’t use a lot of lubricant, the silicone could make it painful. For most people, external lubrication will be needed. I just end up finding more use for vibrators like this as a clitoral vibrator instead of an insertable one. However, it would work just fine for internal use if you enjoy stiff toys. This one doesn’t have any give to it aside from a slight plush from the silicone. Some people may find that the slight curve to the toy will massage the g-spot, but I didn’t feel any g-spot pleasure from the curve. It’s honestly not too much of a curve – it’s just enough curve to make it comfortable for insertion without really seeming to be intended for g-spot pleasure.

Showing the diameter of the vibrator compared to my cell phone

The diameter on this toy is a bit large – most vibrators tend to have a small diameter/size while dildos have the larger size intended for insertion. It’s odd because the Elise has the large size that dildos usually have, but it’s actually a vibrator, This might be a bit uncomfortable for insertion, but it’s honestly about the same diameter as the average penis, so most women shouldn’t have too much problem inserting it. Again, just make sure you use lubrication because silicone produces a drag that human skin doesn’t. However, if you know you like smaller toys for insertion, I’d go with the LELO Liv instead – it’s smaller in diameter and the same toy. If you tried Liv and wanted larger though, Elise is the way to go.

For a clitoral toy, the vibrations were strong enough for me. I’d imagine that most people, unless you require strong vibrations, are going to be just fine with the moderately strong vibrations on the Elise. They aren’t amazingly strong, but they will work for most women. (In the scheme of LELO toys, it’s stronger than the Mia but weaker than the Ina/Mona) One of the two different motors is located in the middle of the shaft while the other is located pretty close to the control pad. The patterns that the Elise comes with are interesting – just mostly a play between the two motors. During insertion, one of my favorites was a vibration pattern that jumped the vibes between the upper motor and the lower motor – back and forth. It felt interesting. For the most part, I’d say this is an amazing clitoral vibrator. If you enjoy insertion though without g-spot pleasure, this will work amazingly for insertion as well since the vibrations are nice and strong. (I’d even consider them pretty rumbly as opposed to buzzy.) The vibrations are quiet enough to not be heard through a closed door which works well for privacy – they can heard be in the same room though.

This is not waterproof. Be careful when cleaning it. When cleaning it, use warm water and antibacterial soap and avoid getting water/soap into the charging port. This is only compatible with water-based lubricant since silicone-based will hurt the toy. For storage, I highly recommend keeping it in the original packaging, but it will be happy in the provided storage pouch too.

In the end, I did enjoy Elise. She isn’t very different from LELO Liv aside from the larger size, so if you are in the market for Elise, make sure you wouldn’t prefer something smaller. Elise looks very sophisticated and looks gorgeous on my nightstand while still being strong enough to satisfy me. It’s quiet, body-safe, and a great choice if you are looking for a clitoral or insertive sex toy.
