Clover Nipple Clamps Review

Clover Nipple Clamps
A picture of the Clover Nipple Clamps

The Clover Nipple Clamps from this sex toy store are a set of nipple clamps produced by Doc Johnson. Each clamp is about two inches long and about a little more than an inch wide. The two clamps are connected by a metal chain that’s about a foot long. The clamps are made from metal and include little rubber pieces inside of the clamping piece to help keep the metal from digging into your flesh. This really doesn’t have any specific packaging and just comes packaged in a little plastic baggie with a piece of paper that states these are for novelty use only.

I’ve had experience with multiple types of nipple clamps in the past, so when I received these, I thought it was just going to be like most other nipple clamps. I have to say that I pretty much thought all companies actually used the same “template” for a certain type of nipple clamp and based their sizes and measurements off of that. After my experience with this Doc Johnson nipple clamp, I have to say that I was surprised because I know it’s not true.

Showing the problem with these clamps. See how the little metal "arm" hits the metal ring that connects it to the chain?

What I’m talking about is how long the bottom pieces of the clamping arms are. Now, this can be hard to explain, so stick with me. You see, on the bottom of each clamp, there’s those two outer “arms” that reach down to the bottom fluffy-cloud looking piece. Those arms are connected to the clamp portion that allows you to open and shut the clamp. The problem is that (and illustrated in the picture I took) these arms are too long for the clamp. I’m not sure if the one I received was defective or not, but every time I attempt to open up these clamps, the little arms get stuck on the metal piece in the bottom of the clamp that holds the chain to the clamp. This only allows the clamps to open up to about 1/8 inch before it hits that problem and stops.

Now you can force through the bottom piece and make the little arms basically “slice” through the metal piece at the bottom, but it does take some consideration hand strength – more than what I want to use when I’m playing with my clamps since other Clover clamp designs don’t have this problem. I’m not sure if this is a defect or not since now my little metal piece that connects the clamp to the chain is starting to show obvious signs of being “sliced” through since there are indentations in the metal. It seems like the more that you slice through the obstructing piece, the easier it gets because the arms actually end up bending in a way that wasn’t intended for them to bend to get around the obstructing piece.

As far as the nipple clamps will open before hitting resistence

Aside from that, I bet you’re wondering how they work. Well, basically, these clamps aren’t adjustable which really probably makes these the most “extreme” type of nipple clamp. Once these are clamped on, these will go as tightly as they can – there is no loosening these. Because of this, I recommend against purchasing this as your first type of nipple clamp. These can be a bit painful for a beginner, and if you aren’t expecting that in your clamp, you may not get as much out of your first nipple clamp experience as you could. If you are looking for something a little more advanced though, this does seem to work really well.

Showing off the nice, raised bumps of the rubber pads

The company did add something nice to the pads that protect your nipple from the metal. They actually added some raised bumps along the surface of the rubber. While it doesn’t all that horrible when I talk about it now, when you consider that it will feel a little bit painful when clamped on since it’ll be even tighter than the non-raised parts, it’s definitely something to consider. The bumps on the rubber pads help the clamps clamp down even tighter as well as it seems to keep the clamps from moving – even when tugged pretty roughly. They definitely can feel pretty intense when clamped on to a nipple – especially if the person who clamped them decides to tug.

While these Clover clamps don’t seem to get any tighter when tugged like some clamps do, they do still stay on quite well. Because they stay on so well, it will feel like they get tighter since it will be pulling on your skin. Some people enjoy placing or tying weights around the chains that attach the two clamps together to make the weight on the clamps even more painful.

Safety-wise, just remember not to keep these on for longer than a half hour. Also remember that, when removed, these clamps are going to cause an short burst of pain while the blood rushes back in. These shouldn’t be getting bodily fluids near them, but throwing them in a pot of boiling water will sterilize them while warm water and antibacterial soap will cleanse them just fine. For storage, any place you choose to put them should work – they seem pretty hardy.

So aside from the technical problem with these opening and shutting, they honestly work about the same as most pairs of clover nipple clamps. They are pretty strong and are usually used for those who have some nipple play experience, and if you are looking for some intense pleasure and sensation, these clamps are the place to find them.
