Satisfyer Penguin Review

A small vibrator made for clitoral use, the Satisfyer Penguin is a travel-friendly air suction vibrator. Made from plastic (the body) and silicone (the tip bits and the buttons), the Penguin is 4.3″ in length with a width of 2.3″. It’s a thick little guy! The Penguin is rechargeable via the magnetic charging port at the base. The Satisfyer Penguin has a removable “tip” which allows for somewhat-easier cleaning, but you’ll read more about that later.

You’ll note the visual differences between the current iteration of the Satisfyer Penguin and the one I own. My pretty-pink version is an earlier coloration of the penguin. For obvious reasons, Satisfyer decided that a pretty black and white coloration was much more appropriate for a sex toy named the “penguin”.

This vibrator has a pretty basic design. The majority of the toy is a nice, rigid plastic. It doesn’t bend or squish at all – and it’s really easy to wipe clean. There are two buttons on the body of the toy. These two buttons actually *look* like one button, but the upper part of the button is the on/off while the bottom part of this button scrolls through the intensity options for the Satisfyer Penguin. When the toy is out-of-sight, it does make it hard to figure out where to press to get more intensity – or just to turn the toy off entirely. The toy easily fits into a hand, and it does feel really nice to hold and touch. It’s very smooth.

The small magnetic ports at the base of the toy function as the Penguin’s charging area. The magnetic connection is decently powerful, and while you won’t be able to hold the toy up based on magnetic connection alone, it does charge okay as long as the toy is on a flat surface. (If it isn’t, the circular design of the Penguin causes it to roll). It takes three hours for this air suction vibrator to reach a full charge, and once it has a full charge, you get two hours of use out of it.

While small and easy-to-carry, the Satisfyer Penguin isn’t my favorite of the Satisfyer line. Possibly because of the different tip design or because of the smaller body size, but the Penguin doesn’t have the feel “suction” feeling of the rest of their larger-sized air-suction vibrators. On the lower power levels, you can feel the “suction” aspect of the Penguin, but as soon as you click into the higher power levels, it starts feeling more like vibration and less like “suction”. It’s not necessarily a bad sensation – but it’s not really the sensation that I’d be aiming for with a suction vibrator.

Adding to the “not my favorite” is the rounded, circular shape of the Satisfyer Penguin. It’s not a terrible design, but encourages a “claw-like” grip to be comfortable and push it up against yourself. That’s not necessarily an issue – but this puts your thumb nowhere near the control buttons when you’re using the suction sex toy. This means you need to pause to pull the toy away from the button, feel around to try to find the button, then put the vibrator back into place. Unless you turn it into a two-handed affair, it’s not easy to change the vibration intensities on the toy while it’s still pressed against the body.

The Penguin isn’t strong enough to get me to orgasm. The only way it’s really orgasmic for me is to literally grind the physical structure of the toy against myself – and it’s not necessarily shaped well for that either. If you’re a fan of softer vibrations and gentler suction, this might be a good thing. For me (someone who enjoys rumbly, deep vibrations or powerful suction), it just didn’t have nearly enough power.

The Satisfyer Penguin comes packaged in a thin, cardboard box. The box clearly displays what’s inside as well as information/features about the vibrator. The box is relatively thin (and I’ve already had multiple Satisfyer boxes “collapse” on me, so these boxes aren’t particularly great for long-term storage of your Satisfyer toys. They are recyclable, though. The box also includes a slim instruction manual as well as a charging cable for the vibrator.

Waterproof, the Satisfyer Penguin is pretty simple to clean. It just needs some warm water and a mild soap. Unlike many of the air suction toys, the Satisfyer Penguin has a pretty “open-ended” removable tip. While this removable tip does make some of the cleaning a bit easier, it doesn’t really protect the interior parts from getting bodily fluids into them. You’ll still likely need to clean the “suction” area of this vibrator even after removing the tip. Make sure you do so, or you’ll end up with a pretty gross toy on the interior parts. Other suction toys deal with this by having a deeper channel and a less “open” tip. The tips for the Satisfyer Penguin look more like an open circle than a closed-off tip.

Overall, the Satisfyer Penguin is an air suction vibrator that comes at a much smaller size and cost than a lot of air suction vibrators. If you enjoy lighter vibrations and aren’t after strong suction, it could be an a-okay option for you. But the full-sized Satisfyer and Womanizer air suction toys are certainly more powerful if you’re able to put down more towards your sex toy. Thanks to Satisfyer for providing this affordable air suction vibrator for my Satisfyer Penguin review.
