Glass Butt Plug Review

UPDATE MARCH 2024: This anal toy is no longer in production. This sex toy review remains for anyone who is curious about it. While you’re here, why not check out some additional educational info – like online submissive tasks, beginner pegging positions, saran wrap bondage, and enema 101 info.

To be honest, I’ve had a fetish for glass toys lately. They all seem to be really gorgeous, require very little lube to use, and just generally look very beautiful. So when this sex toy store offered to let me review this glass butt plug, I was happy to accept their offer.

The Glass Butt Plug is distributed by Adam and Eve products but manufactured by Topco Sales. It has four inches of insertable length and measures about an inch and a half at its widest point. It’s made from Cyberglass and has about a two inch wide base to keep the plug from disappearing into the butt. It honestly ends up looking like a Christmas tree with a wider tree trunk when you look at it. The tip of the plug is rounded to allow for more comfortable and easy insertion.

The packaging that it comes in is pretty basic. It comes in a plastic case with the Adam and Eve logo in the background and the foreground of the packaging. Along with the plastic packaging, a cute velvet red drawstring bag is also included with the butt plug for storage. I was a little upset that the red bag is only just a bag and doesn’t have any padding on it, but it’s better than nothing. It does keep the glass sex toy from getting any scratches on it. On a sidenote, the description on the website states that this comes with free lubricant, but I didn’t end up getting any lubricant with mine.

So what did I think of the plug? Well, it’s made of glass which makes it very good for anal use because it doesn’t really absorb lubricant like other materials can. It’s very smooth and ends up going in very nicely, and many people even say that they don’t need any extra lubricant to use glass toys. That’s the same here with the glass plug – it doesn’t use much lubricant.

However, since it’s made of glass, it also doesn’t have any give to it. It’s very firm and honestly, unless you have some anal experience, you are mostly likely going to find this plug a little too large to use comfortable because of the lack of give. This is definitely for an intermediate anal player because of the size of it. Unless rubber, silicone, and other anal plug materials, glass doesn’t have much give to it, so be aware of that.

Christmas Tree effect.

When it came down to it, we just weren’t very fond of this plug. Yes, it retains lubricant wonderfully, but unless you plan on using it for purely seated masturbation purposes, this plug is virtually useless. Because of how long and firm the plug itself is, it’s uncomfortable to have this in while walking around or doing anything except sitting. If sitting is all you plan to do, this will work, but I enjoy having my submissive walk around with the plug in, so this didn’t work for us.

The body of the plug is also a little unnecessarily long. I just felt like it was a little too long and actually ended up being more painful than pleasurable. While the point at the top is rounded, when inserted, it still feels very awkward to have that point pressing into your insides like that. I wish they would have made it smaller and curved it more.

And finally, my last (and biggest) complaint is probably the base of the insertable portion. Unlike the pictures on the website which show that portion as much more rounded and soft-like, our plug didn’t really look like that. It really did take the traditional “Christmas Tree” shape and pretty much drops off about a third of an inch into the stem instead of doing it gradually. After having had that plug in for awhile, when we went to take it out, he complained that hurt a lot more than it should have. He actually says that, overall, it was really worth the effort to actually take the time and put in the plug when the pleasure wasn’t all that much.

The glass plug itself

However, there is an upside. When it comes to what glass toys usually cost, this anal plug is definitely on the lower end of the spectrum for price. For someone on a tight budget, this might work great for you.

Something else that glass is pretty useful for is temperature play. Unlike some other materials, glass can actually be put in some warm or cool water, and it will take on the temperature of the temperature around it. Unlike stainless steel which stays pretty cold unless near body heat, glass usually is at a comfortable temperature when you pick it up to play with.

To clean a glass plug like this, warm water and antibacterial soap should work just fine. All types of lubricant are compatible with this glass sex toy, so use whatever you prefer.

Overall, this just wasn’t a butt plug for us. We found that it just didn’t work with his body. It make work better for you, but for us, this is going to be sitting in the back of our toy drawer.
