Designed as a safe method to “spread” and “widen” the anus for stretching fun (or medical scenes or scientific curiosity), the Anal Hole Spreader is a steel gynecological instrument designed to spread out the anus. Squeeze the two handles and the “duck-bill” insertable portion will spread apart. This anal speculum will spread up to 2 inches. It doesn’t offer a way to easily affix the spread toy at a certain diameter.
Like most MEO toys, this Anal Hole Spreader comes packaged in a plastic, unopened bag that must be torn open to retrieve the speculum. It’s not a sterilized bag or anything, so I’d recommend giving the toy a good cleaning before using it for the first time. The bag doesn’t really work for long-term storage, so you’ll want to have something else in mind.
The biggest concern for any speculum is ensuring that the surface of the insertable portion has no rough edges. The Anal Hole Spreader doesn’t have any of that. The edges are entirely smooth metal, and the tip of the spreader is made from a rounded metal that gently inserts rather than including a rough, very-thick tip. I would have loved to see more tapering from the tip of the Anal Hole Spreader, but it does work just fine with how it’s set up. It slides into the body just fine.
The Anal Hole Spreader works exactly as expected. Press together the handles, and the interior “spreader” portion will spread. There’s no way to “hold” the spreader at a specific diameter, however, so you’ll have to continue to hold the handle at the width you like. Once you have the Anal Hole Spreader put into the body, it’s pretty comfortable to expand the Anal Hole Spreader, and it doesn’t pinch internally.
At the same time as I received this Anal Hole Spreader for review, I also received the Speculum Black Perlin. I’m going to have to advise most people to choose the Black Berlin over this Anal Hole Spreader. The Black Berlin offers multiple points of constant adjustment, and it’s just as smooth as the Anal Hole Spreader. Since the Speculum can be easily adjusted to stay at certain diameters or widths, it’s a bit more flexible for your playtime and doesn’t require you to constantly hold your anal spreader at a specific width. However, if you rarely “set it and leave it” and prefer to be constantly spreading and closing the anus, the Anal Hole Spreader will be a just-fine solution.
When it comes to cleaning, as this is made from steel, it’s pretty simple to sterilize. You’ll want to take the time to sterilize this as it just has too many small crevices for a good soap bath to be 100% effective. Use the boiling method or a water/bleach solution for a full-clean toy for next time. It’s great for use with any type of lubricant, and since it’s just standard metal, store it however you want. Just make sure you clean it first.
Overall, if you just want to open the butt temporarily and are looking to stay right there and be an active participant in the action, the Anal Hole Spreader can be a fantastic toy. However, if you’d like to spread the hole and move onto other things, you’ll probably want to check out some of the other MEO Speculums to find one with an adjustable design that can stay put once you have the right size. However, for an anal safe spreader that allows for hands-on use for your favorite medical scenes, this one works just fine.
