One of the latest couples vibrator releases, the We-Vibe 4 was designed to pleasure both partners during penis-in-vagina intercourse by being worn during intercourse. Fully wireless and made from 100% silicone material, the We-Vibe 4 includes the charging base, the vibrator itself, and a remote. The entire toy is rechargeable via USB.
Unless you haven’t been around the sex toy circuit for too long, you probably know that the We-Vibe line of toys come as one of the more highly-recommended couples’ toys out there. Compared to the We-Vibe 3, Standard Innovations has made some changes to the We-Vibe 4 to try and make it a better toy. The biggest change most people will notice is the shape. The shape of the We-Vibe 4 has been completely changed. The toy has a much-more noticable g-spot design while the clitoral portion received extra ribbing for more intense pleasure.
The clitoral stimulation side has now been better designed to fit the female anatomy for more intense clitoral pleasure and to rest between the labia to deliver its deep, rumbling vibrations. The middle section is slimmer to allow for more comfortable penetration. The internal, g-spot stimulator has been reshaped for more stability to be even more comfortable for both partners during use.
Like the We-Vibe 3, the We-Vibe 4 includes a fully wireless remote. This remote allows you to easily and simply control the modes, intensity, and power of the We-Vibe 4. This means you don’t have to worry about snaking a hand between your two bodies. Instead, you can just use the remote to adjust the vibrations and intensity on-the-go. This remote in small and easily fits into the palm of the hand with no issue. It includes four buttons in a directional pattern to easily allow for adjusting vibrations and patterns without having to cycle through too many choices.
Like the We-Vibe 3, the We-Vibe 4 also has a stunning storage case that doubles as a charging base. The lid of the charging base can be removed or placed onto the We-Vibe 4 for discretion, but either way, the toy keeps charging. If you need to take the toy with you on-the-go, the vibe can just sit in the storage case and placed into luggage. The storage case also includes a place inside for the remote to sit. 6 hours of charging time will give you 3 hours of play. That’s not a “great” amount of playtime for the charge time, but as it still gives you 3 hours, that amount of time should be more-than-enough for most play sessions. However, unlike the previous We-Vibe 3, the remote on this toy requires a lithium cell battery (CR2032) instead of being fully rechargeable. So that’s something to keep in mind.
With this new upgrade, the We-Vibe 4 adds a new vibration setting called the “Echo” setting. This setting alternates between vibrating the clitoral half and the g-spot half for a unique and interesting sensation. Along with this Echo setting, it still has multiple levels of steady vibration settings, a pulsation setting, and an escalation setting. All of these settings can be simply controlled via the remote control.
When it comes to the fit, the We-Vibe 4 works surprisingly well. Depending on how large your partner’s penis is, it may be more of a snugger fit, but it seems like the We-Vibe 4 was made about the right size. Make sure to thoroughly lubricate the toy and the penis, and they’ll slide against each other pretty nicely. It provides a nice, full sensation without being too much. When inserted, it fit internally really well while also providing clitoral stimulation without too much of a reach. Some particular positions or movements moved the We-Vibe 4 away from clitoral stimulation, but another adjustment, and it’d be back in place.
The remote works pretty well to control the vibrations. It doesn’t seem to “work” through things (like when it was held underneath a pillow while buttons were pressed), but as long as there isn’t anything between the remote and the vibrator, it seems to work just fine. Unfortunately, this means that public play with the We-Vibe 4 is out. It doesn’t seem to be designed for that. On the bright side, for in-the-bedroom use, the remote seems to be really responsive and seems to control the vibrations right away after the button is pressed.
Does the We-Vibe 4 add something special to sex? Unsurprisingly, yes. The vibrations that it provides add a lot more sensation, and it honestly makes sex more enjoyable. At the same time, I wish the We-Vibe 4 had a stronger and more “rumbly” motor. As it stands, the vibrations don’t feel too intense. If you can get the right angle with your partner, the combination of pressing the toy against the body and the vibrations can definitely be orgasm-inducing, but with a stronger motor on the We-Vibe 4, I think that it could have been orgasm-inducing for most women all on its own. As it stands, I think that it will be great for orgasms for some women – but maybe not all.
To clean the We-Vibe 4, you’ll need to use anti-bacterial soap and warm water. The vibrator is fully waterproof, so you don’t need to worry too much while cleaning it. After it’s fully dry (AND ONLY AFTER IT’S FULLY DRY!!), the vibrator can go back into the charging base to charge until the next use. When using lubricants with this toy, use water-based lubricants to avoid harming the silicone material of the toy.
Overall, while I still think the vibration intensity could use another boost, the additions to the latest We-Vibe 4 really help improve the toy. While I’m not sure it’d be worth upgrading from a We-Vibe 3 to a We-Vibe 4, it definitely would be worth picking one of these up if you think the vibrations will work well for you. The remote and vibrations are easy to control, it actually is shaped well to hit those two pleasurable spots, and it’s easy to charge and use over and over. Now just to hope the We-Vibe 5 ends up boosting the intensity of the vibrations.
