“Naughty Appetites” Sex Card Game

The “Naughty Appetites Card Game: Naughty Thoughts” is a card game, sold by TabuToys, designed for two people in a relationship to play. The cards are made from standard card stock, and they come in a cute black/pink design. The game asks provacative questions that allow players to finish a sexual thought themselves or ask the question to their partner. To keep things steamy, in the deck are ten “foreplay” cards to break up the fun. The game includes 52 cards including 21 question card, 21 reveal cards, and 10 foreplay cards.

The game was designed for two players – you and your partner. However, with some modifications, you can make it work for a group of sexually-open people. For the easiest modification, just take out the 21 reveal cards and 10 foreplay cards, and it’s just a game with sex questions. However, if you choose to leave all of the cards in, be aware that the game assumes that you’ve been sexually intimate with the other players, and it will ask things about your favorite sex activities with those people. So if you haven’t already had sex with those in the group, this may not be the best game for you.

As far as the game goes, it’s not so much of a “game” as it is just a fun way to get to know your partner. There’s really no “winner”. Instead, you and your partner take turns using the cards to explore foreplay ideas or ask questions of one another. The questions are all sexual in nature, so even when you’re taking breaks from the foreplay, the quesitons still keep the eroticism high. The game continues until the two of you decide to finish up without the game; this means that “Naughty Thoughts” does a great job to get you into red-hot foreplay, but don’t expect it to finish it for you too.

The question and the reveal cards end up being particularly hot – and useful. A lot of those questions do a great job of letting you do foreplay while still getting some good ideas about how to pleasure your partner in the future. For example, the question “I love it when you touch my….” allows you to easily transition into flirty foreplay at the moment – and it lets you know that your partner really loves it when you do that. The question “If you could have sex anywhere, where would it be?” gives you a kinky idea about where your partner may want to have sex in the future – and you can choose to do it later or make it a fun “gift” for them at a later date. So the reveal and question cards do a great job being erotic with the verbal back-and-forth as well as letting you learn more about your partner’s sexual preferences.

The deck also includes 10 Foreplay cards. The foreplay cards are interesting enough, but they’re also a bit on the cheesy side. They use some really odd ephemisms that I’ve never heard of before. It gets the point across, but it isn’t particularly erotic-sounding either. The foreplay ideas are so-so. They probably will be things that you’ve done in the past, but they may not be things that you do on a regular basis – especially if you’re into a sexual routine. Each card has a time limit that you’re supposed to stick to as well, but again, as you don’t really “win” the game, if the foreplay ends up leading to the final thing, that seems like a part of the game.

Examples of the Question and Reveal cards include:
Have you ever watched a couple having sex?
It turns me on when you sit on my….
I would love for you to use a vibe on my…
My favorite place to have sex is…
Would you ever want to have a threesome?

Examples of the 10 Foreplay Cards include (I’m hardcore paraphrasing. These cards have a small paragraph each, but these are the general ideas):
Grinding against one another with or without clothing
Best kiss of your lifetime
Lick, suck, and play with the nipples exclusively

When it comes to replayability, It does have some replayability, but you can’t play it too often. Some time has to elaspe between playthroughs to have the chance for your answers to have changed or varied a bit between the last playthrough. If you can guess what your partner is going to say, it’s not nearly as fun as being surprised by their new-found willingness to try a threesome.

As a final note, this game works best if played in a well-lit room – especially when it comes to the Foreplay cards. I’m not sure how someone missed this, but the foreplay cards are impossible to read in dimly lit rooms. They’re even difficult to read in a brightly-lit room unless you get it directly reflecting off of the light source. The question cards can easily be read in dark rooms, but the foreplay cards can be problematic.

Overall, the Naughty Thoughts foreplay game is an enjoyable and pleasurable addition to your sexual foreplay. It isn’t perfect, and it isn’t really meant to last the entire sexual session, but it is meant to get you both started with really erotic ideas to try right then as well as ones to try in the future. It’s a good game to play every now and again to see what things your partner loves and see what new things your partner wants to try – plus, to have some awesomely hot foreplay action! Thanks to TabuToys for sending out this couples sex game for my “Naughty Appetites” board game review.
