Duo Obsessions Lavish Review

The box for it

I won this cute little vibrator from a Confessions contest over at PopMyCherry, and I’d been drooling over it for a long time before then, so I consider myself pretty lucky to have won it.

The Duo Obsessions Lavish vibe is made from velvety plastic. It comes in purple or pink, and both colors come with a black bottom battery cover. The vibrator has five inches of insertable length (over seven inches total) and has a curve on the end to help provide g-spot pleasure. The Lavish has an inch and a half diameter. The Duo Obsessions Lavish is made by Evolved, and it doesn’t include any phthalates.

Evolved vibrators always have amazing packaging, and this one is no exception. The Lavish comes in a beautiful tin with a plastic lid. Two little “handles” on the side will flip off the lid and allow the lid to be taken off. The case is a light pink and comes decorated with beautiful flowers and leaves all over it. All-in-all, some pretty classy sex toy packaging if I do say so myself. It boasts fifteen combinations of speed and the website for Evolved is included on the tin as well. I’m impressed by how tough it is too. I sit in a rocking chair most of my free time, and I accidentally rocked on top of the case, and it’s still pretty fine. One side of the tin has dented in a bit, but the toy was still amazingly protected. I trust this tin to keep my Lavish safe.

The batteries for the Lavish

The batteries are pretty basic. The Lavish takes four AAA batteries. There’s a small compartment that slides out of the bottom (black part) when you unscrew it. Two of the AAA batteries are submitted on one side and the other ones are slid into the other side of the compartment. Then you just slide the little battery tray right back into the vibrator. From there, the batteries will work okay. It’s a pain in the butt when your vibe isn’t working, and it’s just one battery that is dead. Figuring out the dead one is horrid.

From there, all of the controls are on the bottom of the vibrator in the black portion of the toy. The power button turns the vibrator on and off, and from there, you have a “1” and “2” setting. Since this vibrator has two motors, Evolved gave you the ability to change the speed on each motor individually. While there is no way to turn off one motor while the other is on, it’s still possible to change the speed settings on each one. Each motor has three different vibration speeds. The “1” motor is controlled in the head of the toy (the g-spot curve) and seems to be a lot more powerful than the “2” motor. The “2” motor appears to be towards the base of the toy and is a little more weak. (Presumably to stimulation the vaginal entrance.) If you turn the toy off, the vibrator will start back from square one with all of the settings – it doesn’t remember them. There also aren’t any special patterns to the vibrations – it’s just three different constant vibrating speeds with each motor. To be completely honest, I rarely touch the “two” button. I find that the “1” button changes the vibrations strongly enough that I can enjoy it perfectly find that way.

The Lavish itself

The vibrations are moderately loud. It’s not ridiculous, but it’s definitely noticeable. I’m sure that, if inserted, the vibrations would be much more muted, but with it just outside the body, it would be noticeable through a closed door. I think some music at a moderate level would cover up the noise of the vibrations though. Unlike most toys, I do find that the Lavish’s vibrations are definitely really deep. These aren’t surface vibrations at all. These are comparatively like the deep vibrations of the Hitachi.

As for how it works? It works definitely, but I wasn’t too successful with the g-spot portion of it. Other women have been, so it does work. I’m much more fond of using it externally because of the strong, deep vibrations. The curved body of the vibrator lends itself well to full coverage of the vaginal area. The g-spot tip of the vibrator also lends well to clitoral stimulation as well. It does have a decent girth to it to be inserted, so if you plan on inserting it, lubricant would probably help the entire process. It’s about the same girth as most male genitals, but it doesn’t have the give that a human penis would.

I tried water fun with the Lavish as well. It handles well with splashes, and from my experimentation, it handles well to being dunked under water as well. That makes it waterproof as claimed.

The Duo Obsessions Lavish was meant to be used externally and internally in the vagina. It was not meant for anal play since it lacks a base. Clean-up with the Lavish is a breeze as well. Since it’s plastic (and sharable since it’s non-porous), you can share this toy and clean it easily with warm water and some antibacterial soap. Wiping it down with isopropyl alcohol will get rid of a lot of the bacteria as well. Since the Lavish is waterproof, you don’t have to be quite as careful with your cleaning. Storage is easy – I just keep mine in the tin case that it came in.

Overall, I have to recommend this vibrator to anyone who enjoys strong, deep vibrations in a well-packaged toy. This is easily one of my favorite vibrators, and I plan on keeping this out as my “go-to” vibrator. This g-spot vibrator is available at this sex shop I trust, so visit EdenFantasys to purchase the Duo Obsessions Lavish vibrator.
